We, at Beaconhouse Clifton Campus, celebrated Global Dignity Day in its true spirit.
The celebrations covered a span of one week. Connecting the event with their unit on citizenship, and to create awareness amongst the school community, students of grades 3 A & B prepared ‘The Wall of Dignity’ and posted their poems, slogans and pledges. They brainstormed ideas and listed down different ways through which they can spread the message of ‘Equal Rights for all’. Furthermore, they initiated a donation drive for an orphanage and brought toys, food, clothes and books for this noble cause.
To wrap up the day our Primary students performed on the song “We are the World’, their lively actions and melodious voices stole everyone’s heart.
We support the spirit of Ubuntu which is an ancient African word meaning 'Humanity to others. My humanity is bound up in yours and embodies the ideas of community, connection, caring and kindness.

The third Wednesday of October recognizes Global Dignity Day. The day taps into the values of kindness, understanding, tolerance, and compassion and ensures that the dignity of every single person is essential. All this leads to building cultures of dignity in our schools, communities, workplaces and ultimately societies that are more just, open and peaceful.
Like Robert Maynard quotes;
“Human rights rest on human dignity. The dignity of man is an ideal worth fighting for and worth dying for.”
Learners of PYP Year 3A conveyed this very important message how to display dignity and respect towards every human around us through their performance and the famous song 'Heal the World'.
