Introduction
On Wednesday, 1st February, 6:30 pm, I went to the TDF Science Museum to attend an event about space exploration and the solar system. I had an amazing experience there! My Findings My trip was very interesting and it enhanced my knowledge. Firstly, I attended a presentation about the history of the solar system and how the sun and planets were made. I found out that: ● Solar Nebula is a cloud of the solar system ● When the cloud exploded it triggered to create a black hole which turned into the Sun (soul of the solar system) ● The sun is made from helium and hydrogen ●When the black hole created the sun so the sun's surroundings were warm but when the surroundings cooled off planets were made! ● At first small planet tesmals orbited the sun and while doing that they gathered space dust and rocks which created them into large planets ● The cloud Solar Nebula dates back to 4.5 billion years ● Comets are made of rocks and planets far from the sun ● Comets have tails which melt when the comet comes near the sun ● A comet was spotted from Earth which is called the green comet New vocabulary
My experience was fantastic. I had a lot of fun inquiring about the solar system. In the end I got to see the moon and the planet Jupiter in real life with a telescope. Even if you don't take interest in astrology does not mean you don't inquire about it. It can be fun to research new things because a little extra knowledge can always be useful! Fun Facts ❖ Mercury is hot, but not too hot for ice. ❖ Venus doesn't have any moons. ❖ Jupiter is a great comet catcher. ❖ Mars had a thicker atmosphere in the past. ❖ Neptune has supersonic winds. "Aerospace technologies and discoveries around the world"
"The real power of interactive technologies is that they let us learn in ways that aren't otherwise possible or practical." - David Lassner. It is wonderful to see how digital technologies are shaping the education system. My students are currently inquiring about aerospace technologies around the world and kicked off their inquiry with an interactive session with experts from SUPARCO, Pakistan. It was an enthralling experience when students made solar observations and discussed the visuals with SUPARCO's personnel. Their faces were beaming with excitement when they had a first- hand experience with a solar telescope. "It was interesting knowing what SUPARCO is doing for our country" Najeeb Ahmed. An interactive indoor presentation allowed students to further develop their critical-thinking skills when they posed questions to SUPARCO’s experts. One may wonder about the difference between an online research activity and face-to-face interactive session. Well! It is the impact of technology that serves as a game changer for learning. “I got to know how SUPARCO is functioning-it was a fascinating experience”, says Aamna Shafi. Collective responses from students prove that guest speaker sessions are an effective way to engage students into meaningful inquiries. “It was a wonderful experience to enhance my inquiry about Space,” stated Muhammad Aabyaz. The most enlightening fact was that Pakistan has played a major role in Space Technologies which dates back to the landing of the first man on the moon. “Pakistan supported the first moon landing,” Priyanka and Mehrajuddin. Students are determined to explore this further and take real-life ACTION! The PYP Exhibition preparation started in February. The topic of our exhibition was “money”. I was really excited because this year I was going to have a virtual exhibition! The virtual was way too different. All the research, class work, discussions & guest
speaker sessions were online. Even the bank tours were online. The scrap books were the most fun part. Each of my classmates including me owned a scrapbook. We wrote all the basic information about our exhibition in the scrapbook in case we forget. It was really fun making the cover pages of our scrapbooks. We did all the research in groups so that no one was left out. We mostly used docs to write down all the research. The group leaders always make sure that the group members are participating actively during the group discussions. We saw videos of the modern money printing factory & coin minting. We even had a classroom economy and our own bank accounts. Some students went in debt & they had to pay it off by doing extra class work. Some students were jobless so they had to wait for a vacancy. We had a survey in which we asked our parents about their budget & daily expenses. We saved money in our piggy banks to buy school supplies for schools near us. We had to save at least Rs. 500 in our piggy banks. We recorded the final exhibition script on June-7-2021. My Promise: I will perform better if I get the opportunity to participate in a Virtual Exhibition. We started at 10 February 2021 in school we all got jobs and money.
When school went off we all started online classes. Did online work we also went on a virtual tour to the Bank we save our money and from that money we save some one education we also do a survey with mother father and friends we also learn’t about money printing how money print and we also learnt about money plates we make a time line we also learnt history of money, barter to bits, credit card vs debit, value of money in the last we did online recording and in the recording there was many problems. We did it and not to forget we completed our action on Money. When I was a kid, I always wanted to study about the PYP Exhibition. In this quest, I usually sat down with my seniors during the breaks and questioned them about the PYP Exhibition. The students discussed their projects, experiments or planning a field trip, which increases my intuition about the PYP Exhibition. Why I wanted to do the PYP Exhibition- Students went to field trips, enjoyed the experiments and had a lot of fun than what other students. I was very much curious about the experiences and wanted to lean more and more about many different things around. Finally, I was in Grade 5- I started to plan about the field trips and other learning with fun activities involving different experiments BUT... the revisions and other academic works were also needed to be completed. After 1 month, we were informed about the exhibition and alas, I was very excited. The planning process stared and we along with our teacher and other students started to research about the topic and different ingredients which included field trips, project related experiments, ample research work. As the COVID-19 was on its peak, so all of the field trips were virtual. Our topic for exhibition was all related with 'MONEY', so we had a virtual tour of the State Bank of Pakistan. A lot of information was shared with us and we really had a lot of FUN. Finally, the PYP Presentation- The PYP Exhibition was also planned virtual - so recordings and proper placement of the presentation took a lot of time but we learned many new elements of recordings and also how to present the exhibition to the wider audience - globally. Overall, my grade 5 experience was the best. I would certainly like to thank our teacher; Ms. Sundus. I will cherish this journey forever. I am Sohana and I am from Grade 5-B. This is my blog. I will be sharing my experience from PYP EXHIBITION. In 2021 we started our exhibition journey. We explored a lot of sources. While working on LOI 1, which is WHAT IS AN INFRASTRUCTURE OF WASTE MANAGEMENT, we learnt about separate systems and combined systems. Then we worked on LOI 2, which is IMPACT OF AN EFFECTIVE SEWAGE SYSTEM IN PLACE, we visited different sewage systems, clicked some pictures and then reflected on them. These pictures helped a lot. After inquiring more, many questions bubbled in our minds but after having sessions with our Guest Speakers and inquiring step by step the queries were cleared. We had sessions with 2 Guest Speakers. After all this process we created a survey using a survey monkey. After creating the survey we got the analysis. Most of the people do not think that it’s their fault in sewage spills in their areas. After the survey when we got the analysis. From the analysis it was evident that a large majority of citizens do not take care of their area, though they throw garbage and plastic products and then think that it’s not their fault if there is water spills in their area. After finding everything it was time to take an action so we chose to hold a campaign and do advocacy. When we were done inquiring so it was time to go LIVE in front of the whole world and show what we had learnt while inquiring. Everyone was nervous and exited too. The exhibition went really nice. We enjoyed a lot learning about sewage spills. This was my AMAZING EXHIBITION JOURNEY. ★ Hi my name is Inshirah and this is my blog Today I am gonna tell you about my PYP Exhibition Journey! First let me show you my team! We started our journey in the end of 2020 Yes! we have been working for a while now In the start it was confusing and questions popped Up in our head like: ★What is money? ★What is the Pyp exhibition? ★What is money to us? ★Why are we doing this exhibition? Then we started to talk about the history of Money like how from barters, pebbles, shells we evolved on to the great Printing money system but like our scrap books are filled with Information and we made it really colorful! Now let’s talk about the whole process. We started from the history of money and slowly made our Way up to Crypto currencies and the role of bank of state bank! Researching about Crypto currencies was really fun! But through researching we found out about money Laundering, We also got to know that money laundering is also a type of theft! By this we were moving towards The end of our research, We started gathering our information to create a final Presentation and script to show to the whole world! ★ We started to make the script and To be honest it was really Difficult to do but we got Through it because We worked together! ★June 8th was the day Of the exhibition we all were so nervous! But we all NAILED IT! We were so happy that all the hard work Paid of!!😄 Fun fact We actually made packets for a school and also Paid someone’s fees in the Zohra’s school! We used our own money for this Action! I think us 5G have become really responsible ★ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd3kvlVCR3I Please go and support us!❤ Thank you so much for your time❤ And balanced in our decisions now! We started are exhibition practice from February 2nd. We researched online and found books articles and we saw that how money is being printed, how they are getting different serial numbers and how it’s changing the paper money game. We also made scrap books in which we
wrote our LOI,s central idea and about our guest speaker session with sir Ally Abass. We had a virtual tour to state Bank of Pakistan. To understand money and its importance we started our classroom economy. We learnt how to keep a bank balance. Some of us went into debt which we paid off by completing class work and extra allocated responsibilities. We had so much fun in the experience .This way we learnt responsibility and accountability of our actions. Just like my job was communications director I had so much fun I learned so much. We had a survey in which we asked our parents that how they manage their monthly expenses. We saved our money and made packets for Al Zahra school. And this way I learned the value of money and how the poor people manage the day. Our teacher gave us lines for our exhibition and we did recording in which we said that lines just like my line was, Through our research we concluded that * Money is our responsibility * Money should be used with proper understanding * Money helps us in acquiring a lot of goals in life but is not the only thing we need. Responsibility, Honesty and Integrity go hand in hand while working with Money. And our exhibition came on YouTube on our schools website. Link given below. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fd3kvlVCR3I We started our journey at February 17th. We learnt the basics of money and money management. Then we started learning about the history of money. We started our classroom economy where all the students got jobs from their different personalities and skills like I was a banker because I am good at math. We started our online journey because of Covid. We started to research more we went on a virtual tour and we also had a guest speaker session with sir Aaly Abaas. It was really fun, he told us about money laundering and fraud. Here is a picture of our team. We made scrapbooks and put a bunch of information in it. Our scrap books were basically our remembrance of our topic. We researched on many websites like: Free Online Money Math Games | Education.com https://www.education.com › games › money-math Money - Wikipedia We had a parental survey where we asked our parents about money and the home budget. We figured out some really big secrets about our house. Since Eid was around the corner each student saved up some money to donate to our neighbor school. We made boxes and put pencils, pens, books, crayons and many other things. We came up with our script and the whole class wrote it together. After that everyone started learning their lines and we rehearsed every day. One day our teacher recorded it all. I had a lot of fun in the experience of the Pyp exhibition. I am Deshal Karia, a student of PYP grade 5 C from Beaconhouse Clifton Campus. As you know, every year Beacon House arranges an exhibition for grade 5 and so this year. Start of my Exhibition was from 14-December-2021. Our target for this exhibition is to research about craftsmen and help them for their rights. We also took virtual interviews to upgrade our study about the craftsmen. Through this exhibition and all the research work we did related to it, we got to know that all the effort and hard work that craftsmen do to make the tradition and culture alive which nobody does. They don't make enough income to run their families and provide the basic lifestyle to them. We discover the new platform and introduce to them that they expand their work to the world and start a new journey. And to overcome their problems we discover Organization, Companies and Websites to give a solution to their complications and give a proper format of it. During the whole session we were taking down the notes and having an understanding of it, also to have a clear satisfaction, we gave a reflection on the notes we took of the session. "Values are not trendy items that are casually traded in." My journey started and we completed most of the journey through virtual classes. It helped us in our PYP Exhibition inquiry because it gave us a lot of information about money like crypto currencies, State Banks, Money connecting to future goals and many more.
In the scrapbook work, we learned about the Central Idea called “Understanding the importance of Financial Management which leads to a secure future “We discovered the timeline of money". It all started with the Barter System, Cowry Shells, Minted Coins, Gold Standard, Breton Wood System and Crptocurrencies. We discovered LOI-1 “Evolution and Role of Money”. We learned about paper money, how to print money, budgets, money savings and many more. One article that helped us to save our money with the most simplest ways. We learned the information by Google Drive, YouTube etc. The learner profile, I achieved was a strong Inquirer. The online recording was quite good but we did make ton of mistakes which was really irritating. The action in the Stream Yard link was amazing. We all did it with great expressions. Saving is income not spent, or deferred consumption. Methods of saving include putting money aside in, for example, a deposit account, a pension account, an investment fund, or as cash. Saving also involves reducing expenditures, such as recurring costs. ... Saving does not automatically include interest. We have to save money consciously and keep a balance for the future needs. The pyp exhibition started on 10 February, then the school’s were closed. Online classes were started.
We had a guest speaker Sir Aaly. We asked him questions about how we can save our money and related to our pyp exhibition We got job in the class economy so we got salary 300, 200 . Miss gave money for our good work. Some students went in debt .There account balance was low. They were told to pay off their debt by doing class work on time and homework. We watched video about money and visited some websites there is money museum website. Through this journey i was able to develop self management skills in myself. It was a fun journey. |
